Remembering the Difference Between Physical and Chemical Properties of Matter

We know that organic (what does that mean again?) compounds contain carbon and other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen, sulfur, etc. But how can we remember how to distinguish the differences between physical and chemical properties and the physical or chemical changes that they undergo?
